Hello. I'm new to this forum & wanted to say hi. Well, as the title of the thread asks, does anyone know of any good audiophile stores in the Philippines (Manila specifically)? I will be going there next week, so I thought I might have the opportunity to check out some cool gear while I'm there - stuff that might not be released in the US or stuff that I could find at a really good price. Any suggestions or pointers would be great! Thanks in advance!

I've been considering the purchase of a pair of C-pads for my ms2i's but am have trouble finding any opinions of them or descriptions of how it changes the grado presentation. Do you or have owned a pair? How did you like them?

Is anyone in the UK using a Zerosurge or Brickwall surge protector ? I have bunch of SACD-hybrid discs that came in rounded corner case (if you've seen or have one, you know what I'm talking about). Some of them, unfortunately, have cracks or otherwise have some damage on them. Anyone know if or where one could purchase those SACD-hybrid cases?

Ok, in true Head Case fashion I have decided I need a higher end audio card for my office system. Currently I am running windows XP foobar and iTunes out via usb to my PS Audio balanced dac. The PS Audio dac will sample out to 192 but as you know usb will only go to 96K and I can't seem to get ASIO4all to load onto my computer so the better solution would seem to be to spend some moolah and just take a great leap forward. So, looks like I won't get to a nice 80/20 based rack, as my wife as vetoed the aesthetic. She wants something totally closed (of course) and there's no way I can let that happen to do heat considerations. What we've compromised on, is something like this, in fact exactly like this would be great, but it needs to be able to house a 17" depth component... My mom is wanting to get a small laptop (bigger than a tablet) to use at home, primarily for Skype to be able to do video chats with her grandkids, downloading pics, Microsoft Office, and basic internet browsing. She wants a built-in camera, moderate budget maybe $500 to $600. She's computer literate, but not at all tech savvy (kind of runs in the family). She's thinking about a Macbook Air such that she can avoid the hassle of viruses and such but isn't cray about spending $1k when she can get the same for $500 or less for her basic needs. Any suggestions?

I was just washing some sheets and heard some noise in the washing machine. There were two AA batteries in the washer that got in with the sheets. They were submersed in water. I took the batteries out and they seem to be ok - no obvious swelling or tears. Will the sheets be ok to use after washing again? Should I do anything to the washing machine? I guess I am worried that some battery acid might have leaked out.

I will soon have an RA1 for my RS1. It will be a pain to switch batteries every now and then though. I would like an AC adapter with 9V connectors to supply the unit with power. 1. What do I need to look for in that AC adapter? 2. Would 9V be enough? Since the RA1 uses two 9V batteries, would I have to use one 18V adapter? I think the batteries are in parallell in the RA1 but I'm not sure. If they are would 9V be enough? 3. Is it okey to split the adapter output cable into two 9V connectors, or would I have to have two AC adaptors? 4. How much mAh does it have to have to be enough for the RA1? 5. I know we have Shave-Case, but for those periods of wanting to keep hair have any suggestions for beard treatments to keep things manly soft and not bone dry? So I am thinking about replacing my roomate, but the main reason that I haven't is because the volume of my snoring is turned up to 11. I've been told not only can it be heard through the wall but through the floor as well to downstairs and that's a hard thing to see if a potential roomate can handle without doing a trial run which is really f'ing awkward to arrange. My snoring aside.. you can hear everything through the wall including talking normal volume on the phone. So I want to sound proof it up. What's the best way to do it? I currently have the Motorola H700. It is truly a piece of shit. I need to get a new headset, as I tend to be on a lot of calls during my commute. The #1 requirement is sound quality on my end and the listener's end. #2 is that it needs to be comfortable. Otherwise it doesn't need a lot of bells and whistles. I've read some decent things about the Jawbone 2, but it is expensive with some drawbacks, but if the sound and comfort are far superior to anything else then so be it. Any suggestions are appreciated.

These two make look innocent. But, they are interconnect chewing machines. One of them chewed up another pair of my irreplaceable siver/ gold alloy hybrid IC's today. I just sent Zach a pair of Gold alloy IC's they chewed completely through a few weeks ago. Before that they dined on a couple Oehlbach Senn cables, a pair of gold alloy, a silver hybrid and yet another gold alloy. Can anybody think of something I can put on the cables to discourage this behavoir? Nothing poison .... but something that would taste really bad.

Hi All, I'm thinking of buying two measurement mikes and turning my new mannequin head Bob into a binaural head with ear canals etc. Once I do that I will also send it off to be calibrated and then the fun will really begin To do this though I need a dremel or something that will let my router out a couple access ports etc into the back of Bob. Anyone have something suitable I can borrow?
