It’s fun getting to know a new setup. I don’t have the VPI really dialed in yet, but already don’t like the threaded clamp. I am trying just a heavier weight that places over the threaded spindle. I also don’t know why VPI didn’t better match up these foam discs when adapting their newest footers to older designs. I think I will have a go at designing a replacement.5 points

The new battery and case back arrived at Fitz's place. It seems as though he has everything working well. He's going to keep it for a week or so, to be sure everything is functioning correctly, after closing it all up inside the case. Having a 1tb. iPod with solid state drive is going to be very useful for me, and Fitz even stuffed a whole bunch of his music in there for me. Thanks Fitz!4 points

Nice Spring day, Karen and I went out for some shopping and just to see sites. Stopped at a wonderful Italian place in Southern NH called Tuscan Market (and Tuscan Kitchen restaurant right next door). Got perhaps THE best Italian panini I've ever had. That and some great cold brew coffee, sitting outside in the parking lot with my sweet, made for a very nice time.3 points

If there is anything you need let me know, though I’m guessing shipping might make it cheaper to find a local source. Plus there is always the chance it could warp a little in the change in environments. Willing to help if I can though.1 point

While I'm fond of AMD as I had a K6-2 way back, I don't love them. I'm glad they got their act together again on the CPU front with Ryzen so I don't have to use Intel anymore, and really hope they can catch up to Nvidia on the GPU front because as much as I like Nvidia's hardware, they are an absolutely terrible company.1 point

Intel has got some real problems. What they need is better products. I am not sad to see Apple and AMD kick their ass. They have been a bully in the chip world for a long time.1 point

It's pretty common for dealers to not have stock of something like replacement pads. If you don't want to deal w/ ordering directly from Senn I'd reach out to Justin and he should be able to do it for you.1 point

Hi all, New guy again. I received the ES Labs Sigma with 404 transducers yesterday. So, grain of salt and all... They're lovely. They sound great on chamber music, and the sense of space is really nice. Significantly darker sounding than the L700. Also a bit rounder the the 007 MK2. Meaning, I think they either have a dip around 6K or a boost around 300Hz (or both). My biggest issue is efficiency. Orchestral crescendos produce significant clipping. I just can't play them loud enough compared to the L700 or 007 (which will also clip on occasion compared to the L700). Now, I'm new to Stax, so I'm not sure if I'm hearing the KGST go into clipping or the drivers are reaching their excursion limits. Maybe when I get my SRD-7 from Birgir, and hook them up to my Bryston monoblocks, I'll be able to get more SPL out of them. Time will tell.1 point

It was definitely a normal part of life with ATI cards before AMD bought them, though as far as I understand AMD does still have some of that classic ATI driver jank for their video cards.0 points
