Knuckledragger 3,713
Wow, I'm shocked. I've been a fan of FSH since I saw Magnolia 15 or so years ago. 46 is way too young.

Wmcmanus 936
Shocking news. He was perfect as Brandt in The Big Lebowski. As Walter would say, "Good night, sweet Prince." Edited February 2, 2014 by Wmcmanus
luvdunhill 3,222
Conductor Claudio Abbado, 80, passed away yesterday. I believe my favorite Mahler 2 recording was by him, with the CSO, from the late '80s. Sometimes I think the CSO made a mistake hiring Barenboim instead of Abbado, but I suppose Barenboim left some good influences also. RIP It relieved the world from hearing his horrible horrible piano performances (Barenboim) which was a good thing in my book
Voltron 24,793
Awful news. What Walter and Wayne said.
jp11801 950
I loved PSH's performances and it is incredibly sad that he could not get the help he needed

n_maher 11,237
Wow that sucks. Brilliant actor. This but also what a waste. I always have mixed feelings about overdose deaths, especially when it's someone who could have afforded any treatment he needed.

Riotvan 11
Why do the good ones always have to die and we end up stuck with the dime a dozen hollywood fucktards. Rip..
Voltron 24,793
Agree with Jacob. With or without strong heroine an addiction like this does not involve choice. I obviously don't know the details but he was supposedly sober for 23 years when he went into rehab in 2012, and just recently went through rehab for snorting heroine. It's tragic and stupid but I don't think you can dismiss the struggle just because the guy could afford treatment.
n_maher 11,237
I didn't feel like typing a novel so yes, it was an over-simplification of how I feel about the issue. I celebrate the fact that he got and stayed sober for those 23 years. I feel for his kids that at some point he made the now-fatal decision to do drugs again. So yes it's tragic that he passed regardless of the reason but the reason also gives me pause.
Aura 8,293
I see both sides and can't really debate. It's just such a shame for PSH, his family, and anyone who ever appreciated any of his work.
