Official Head-Case Thread to help fix Icarium's SP amp

Featured Replies

I've started up this thread to give folks a place to offer their time/parts/labor whatever to help Icarium get his SP amp up and running and with a little luck maybe even sounding good. Hopefully this thread will to organize the effort that I'm sure has already begun via PM's.

If your unaware of Dan's situation:

And here we go!

This was the single box that was contained within the well packed double box:

Look how well packed these things are:

The new umbilicals!

Well I think it looks nice.

But uh oh... something is rattling and moving around inside! Could it be the infamous battery upgrade! Which Mikhail told me was something like 1k-1.2k! Something he said he could throw in to me for ~300!

So I open it up.

And this is when I discover that I might have overpaid a bit.

Hrm what is this capacitor connected to....

Well I guess this is what was rattling inside... practically the least of my worries.

What does this wire connect to???

And here is the amp section.. build quality seems nicer but potentially very square waveish?

Well that's that... I am very glad Tom that you are satisfied and that he flew out and made good for you. It looks like my own problems might have entered a new phase.

I'm a bit far away from where the amps located but I volunteer soldering iron time.

Cash and parts, whatever I have is available.

Cash and parts, whatever I have is available.

I can do those too ;)

No parts or DIY skills here, but I'd like to donate some cash.

I can donate cash, iron time, parts.

One thing really needed is a central ramrod - which I would NOT be able to do (look at my builds as proof) - but, someone will need to direct the traffic.

Tkam, can we pare the packing pics - just helps load before cached... though, the empty liquor bottles do help set the stage.

You have my Axe!

And, you know, cash.

I'm in for what ever you need, cash, parts or what ever.

In for whatever I can offer. Dan can cry on my shoulder or he could buy my Beta at a discount and have you clever people put it inside that gorgeous chassis. I will also pitch in ca$h if that doesn't make any sense.

Good idea here, Todd and everybody else.

I will donate cash to this cause!

I'm in for any iron time, parts, etc. that I can help with.

I just can help with cash, no parts or DIY skills to offer

I'm in for cash just lmk when and I'll buy Dan a cigar and bourbon to ease the pain

Wonderful idea Todd :).

I'm happy to help with cash as well. Dan knows that if he ever is in my neck of the woods drinks on me ;). That amp needs some sunshine and with the help of good folks here on HC it will be well soon :)

I'm in for cash. Also, after the next couple of weeks, I'll have time to help with the organization. I'd volunteer to ramrod, but that person should be a DIY guy or someone else that actually knows what is necessary to do.
