I received mine a couple of days ago, but I'll be waiting until the holidays to open it :)

I cheated and opened my box, thanks naaman :)

Which one? Curious how part of it turned out.

And let us me know what you think when you try the other.

The Noah's Mill. I haven't tried it yet, just opened the box. Looks great tho.

Priority Mail's six days to Scotland estimate is looking a bit optimistic after two weeks. I wonder if HM Customs are in the mix?

Blessingx's made it into the postal system this afternoon, so it should make it just in the nick of time.

No letter from HMRC. No parcel (well, LOTS of parcels, but not the right one).

Yours has been in the post for a while and it started in the USA.

Yay, I received the package today. It's definitely stuff I've never heard before.

I suspected that I was lucky to have a good exchange partner and I was right! There are two CDs, haha.

I think I still like Leona Lewis - Echo more, but this stuff is quite good too.

Got my second CD from Brent. I was going to wait until the official holiday opening gifts day to open both of them but gave in. Ripped 'em both to the Sansa Clip and listened on the flight home for the holidays. Excellent choices Brent - perfect traveling music (whatever that means). Gotta give a spin on a better source and amp. Thanks Brent!

Got mine from the icy north, promptly opened it and have been enjoying ever since. Here's hoping Amazon.co.uk allows for same enjoyment over there :)

Thanks Fitz. Even if it doesn't, a few friends are celebrating my birthday (also Xmas) a couple days later, so it'll nicely fit in there. Thanks again and looking forward to revealing the mystery.

It's arrived but I'm going to hold out until the 24th before I open it. At least try... :D

I had to refer to Wikipedia to look up what instrument the artist is playing. It is called an oud.

I especially like listening to strummed string instruments with a good headphone system. Electrostatics in particular render the picks, plucks and strums very well. The details in the attack and decay of the notes comes through and I can almost think I'm hearing the sound from each individual string during a strum.

Gah, this artist has a large discography.

For the first time in a long while, I have hope that my affliction of horrible taste in music can be cured, or at least somewhat alleviated.

An oud, eh? Sounds like you're listening to my kind of music :)

Great success! Glad to hear that you like the Brahem and I bet you will learn to like St.Vincent soon enough. I thought you should try an alternative type of female vocalist with a little more wit than your pop diva obsessions of late. ;)

Ooh, Brahem and St. Vincent -- fine choices, sir.

Seems like Dash is finally beginning to recover. Sent the first CD out today. Another to follow. No chance of it arriving before Christmas, so Happy New Year Dash!

Thanks. Mine should go out tomorrow. Happy New Years as well!

Weird, the cd I ordered tonight might make it by Christmas. If so, then Merry Christmas! Either way, hoping you enjoy these!

I am very appreciative and hope you enjoy the "cool" selections I send...

I just received my package from the great white north, thanks Dany! I just couldn't resist a taste so I opened up one of the cd's to give a short preview. Ummm, I am not really familiar with Chechnya folk music

but I am willing to give it a shot, those accordions do kind of have a rhythm.;)

I'd be interested in hearing that :)

Our next Glenrothes LA meet FTW.

I'm holding out till the 24th - the suspense makes it more fun...

VPI is welcome to open his now. I know he was going to be there to get it on the 20th (yesterday), and the CD got there ahead of him.
