I was hoping that Slovakia will repeat their success with Italy and will beat Netherlands. Unfortunately they have lost - but the match was really good IMO. And they scored a goal at last.

Overall smooth start to the race today without massive pile-ups that often happen in the first days. The crowds were unbelievable in Yorkshire -- such a turnout could not have been expected. Cavendish screwed it up in the last 250 meters because he was too anxious and now it seems likely that he will be out of the race altogether. Sad finish for the home crowd but Kittel is the real deal and Sagan doesn't have the same level of power but is still crafty and quite fast. I hate Cuntador but they say he is in great shape and will at least challenge Froome more than last year. It would be nice to have some others step up and create some drama. I will miss Quinta…

I'm watching the high quality stream online (all the streaming is via silverlight) and I'm extremely impressed with the quality. It's probably the best quality stream I've ever seen. Now I just have to keep an eye out for some good games

Believe it, the Giants can take it all the way, defeated all the odds, and have an honest chance of taking down the "perfect team". Every time the Giants are supposed to lose, they won... They suck, had a spineless quarterback, and are a "dirty team" according to some packers players? Will the media still be talking all this trash about the giants tommorow morning? I'm loving it... As a Jets fan, i'm really pulling to see the Giants clean up the Patriots, and this has probably got to be an awesome battle of a superbowl. I'm psyched.

They are completely emasculated at this point, no balls and no heart. They played one of the worst games against a team with a dirtbag who ended the Bruins' best player's season, maybe longer.... They really needed to show unity, toughness, and demand respect from a team that basically walked over them tonight. Turn them over....they are done.... Bummed in MA.

Well it's official! After two great AFC and NFC championship games we have the Saints and the Colts going to the superbowl. The saints/vikings game was one of the best i've seen in awhile. Hoping Drew Brees can bring it home this year

Joe Frazier was the only boxer I ever really liked. I thought the Fight of the Century was amazing, and I hated it when Ali beat him the next two times. Joe was the greatest to me, and he liked headphones. Rest in peace, champ.

Anything interesting here, or same old, same old? Fun to see the Bulls doing so well and the emergence of Derrick Rose as a prime time player. My brother and his boys were at the game today in Chicago to witness a 16-1 run by the Bulls in the last 2 and a half minutes of the game to pull it off. Not counting on much though. Wouldn't be surprised to see the Lakers and Celtics in the finals, as usual.

Any other fans or does everyone here hate 'em??? I grew up 100 miles from LA and have watched them religiously my whole life. Needless to say, I am very excited with how this year is unfolding .

Congratulations to the US women's soccer team on perhaps the greatest comeback victory I can remember in recent history. It is gratifying to see grit, determination and raw talent win out over terrible (horrendous) refereeing and egregious diving. I only hope that the referee is not allowed to call a FIFA match for the rest of humanity's existence. And just to put the exclamation mark on it the president of the university was driving by as Karen was doing her Brandy Chastain in our driveway. It was nice of him to wave.

Hurray, we bought another title!

I saw that there is a gathering HC fantasy FB thang, but I didn't chime in because I'm ignorant about Football (ok, and most other things). The only sport that I know anything about (besides synchronized swimming) is NHL Hockey. So I thought I'd just throw it out there. Any interest in a Fantasy Hockey League? I've never participated in a Fantasy anything, that is unless you count Crush Videos (it took me a minute to think of something really bizarre). But I'd be game.

Damn, I love hockey. Even more when the Canadiens are winning like this season. Seriously, I think no other sport beats hockey on television. Fast action, solid physical contacts, intelligent plays, etc. I don't understand why you Americans don't love it as we do in Canada. Football rules, but why the hell is baseball more popular than hockey? Watching baseball on TV is as exciting as watching plants grow... So, any hockey fans out there?

My final four is Kansas, Kansas State (over 'cuse in elite 8 ), Duke (easiest pick of the four), and West Virginia (toss up over UK in elite 8, this is the year for wv if they're going to get close).

Lance made a very strong showing on the first day and I was thrilled that he beat Contador in the Prologue time trial. Especially given that the Wall Street Journal published the same Fuckhead Landis accusations on the eve of the race. Weak move by the WSJ But nice that Lance kept his composure and channeled the anger into riding strong. Psyched for the whole race!

Well the Tokyo Olympics will start this Friday and even though Lance is no longer fencing I thought I might share a piece with you explaining some of the basics of the sport should you consider watching the USA fencers in action. The video was shot at Lance's former fencing studio; the fencer Ysaora trained with and fenced Lance multiple times and Lance would occasionally beat her. At the 5 minute mark you will see our friend and Lance's coach Maurizio who Lance will be visiting in Italy next Month. Ysaora is France's number one foil fencer and projected to medal. Even with so little time this semester I found some free time to read this book. Usually not a bio fan ( and even less the autobio format ) but I must admit it was extremely interesting. Despite the miserable life with the usual redemption part ''
