Meets

As far as I know I'm the only Manitoban posting on HC, but in case anyone is going to be in the area, we have a small Winnipeg group from the other forum who meet up semi-regularly for food and gear. The next one is Sept. 27. If you're interested, either post here or in the Winnipeg meet thread on HF, or PM me or whatever.

Since Colin has been gracious enough to let me crash at his place, I'll be in the NYC area from the 7th to the 12th for a couple concerts (7th and 10th). If any NYC area HCers are gonna be free and want to meet up for drinks or food or whatever, let me know and we'll make it happen.

Its been way too long since I have seen any of you guys. Last time we drank together was actually my 21st birthday over a year ago! I am finishing finals on Dec 21st and would love to get a drink with all of you local troublemakers. Lets plan what day works best for everyone and do something before the year ends. For the folks here who don't follow H-F, this is shaping up to be a very nice meet: Montreal meet at the FSI show! The Festival Son & Image is a big hi-fi expo held in Montreal every year that lasts 4 days (3 open to the public). We'd get an occasion this year to have a free booth for headphone enthusiasts sponsored by Sennheiser where we could expose our gear. It's still in preliminary stage of planning and I don't have anything to do with the organization of the meet this time, but it seems like a great occasion to promote the hobby in a speaker environment (and accept how inferior headphones are compared to good speaker setups ).

If space gets tight, I would give priority to people I know (or someone I know who can vouch for you.) Serving beef ribs slow-cooked for 8 hours in my Egg. I'm open to moving it somewhere else within 10 miles of where I live. Too many meets all over the state for me this year. Ok so here's the deal: with 3 months' advance notice for this thing, I'm expecting some more HC-ers to show up this year. There was a paltry handful last year (but it was certainly a fine group, no complaints there) and I'm sure more can show up this time! Who can be in? It'll be headphones + speakers! Not really sure where to put this, so mods please move it wherever it needs to go. I just caught wind of this thing called the San Diego Record Show on Saturday July 25th. According to yelp and some other sources, they sell records for cheap, including hard to find ones. While I'm not a vinyl guy, I can probably stop buy if there are records people are looking for. Jp and I have decided to host a meet down here. I've posted it at HF as well. We are looking to have a meet, with gear on Saturday. The rest of the time, is up to those who attend. Depending on the turnout, I may try to get a room at the Embassy Suites where CJ '08 took place. Otherwise, the usual place in Plantation we have the meets in the past.

I am moving to Cooperstown, New York at the end of May, 2013. My girlfriend will be the only one I know. Any Head-Casers up in that area? Otsego County, Herkimer (sp?), middle of nowhere, New York State? Let's get a couple of micro meets every now and again. Also, we can car-pool to the NYC meet in the fall (we will rent an Audi R8 from Hertz; there's enough space for a portable rig).

Hey folks, in just over a month Billy (bhd812) along with the rest of the CanJam 2010 organizing crew will be hosting the third annual ChiUniFi headphone meet at the Hyatt Regency O'Hare in Chicago, IL. This is the same venue that will be used for CanJam 2010 in Chicago, so this year may feel more like a test run for the big event next summer.
