Took this last evening, right before I went to Apple to have my iPhone replaced after autofocus died a noisy death (camera lens sounded like angry bees)

Crikey, it's 70 here today.  I had an off-island site visit this morning which made it particularly painful to come back to the office. 

Well in some neighborhoods out here the temperature ranged from 88 to 451 degrees.

 

 

Jesus, Greg, I was assuming you were still safe because you were posting but how close is the fire at this point?

We are fine now and thankfully all of our friends no property damage just a lot of burned out brush, most of the drama was from Friday. The firefighters are doing an awesome job containing the fire and with the cooler air and light rain we hopefully have turned the corner.  Friday was pretty hairy for a while there, one moment the fire was moving south west which is away from us then suddenly turned inland back towards us. My office has large windows facing north so all day long I am seeing moderately clear weather.  Then in the afternoon I am totally engrossed in reading some report and didn't notice that the sky had turned real smoky.  I get an email from my son's school saying that they are under a voluntary evacuation.  Shit!!!!  I pack up the proceed to lock my office up but when I enter the hallway it smells like I am inside someones BBQ smoker.  As I am driving west towards my son's school it is getting smokier and smokier and I can no longer see the mountains.  Double shit!!!!  But it all ends well because I pick up my youngest with no issues, then proceed to pick up my other son and by the time we arrive home the sky is clearing and we can hardly smell any smoke.  Great Friday drama! 

And now I'm in the mood for some bacon.

Wow, we barely have any snow in the mountain passes here in Wa.  Geez you guys!  

I suppose I won't get any sympathy when I complain that it is only 54 degrees here today (first cold day here).  I am a cold weather wimp.

Well it was around 54 here as well.....in the morning, but now it is around 84 degrees.  Thirty to forty degree swings in temperature throughout the day is not that unusual for us.

Twenty-fucking-one degrees this morning and we're not yet halfway through Nov.

Had me beat, 23 here...

It was bloody cold and windy here today, currently hovering around 20. Somehow it's supposed to be near 60 on Friday.

Just below freezing here.  Fuck all y'all shorts-wearing fuckers.

The power went out half an hour ago, and everything outside is covered in ice.  I'm having nightmarish flashbacks to 2011.  

Ice Zombie Apocalypse?

I had a power outage ~9-4, would have been the perfect time to take a nap, only I didn't.  Just found out we're due for some more tomorrow.

We had about an inch on the ground this morning but nothing really became of it. It mostly rained at work. The forecast for tomorrow is a crapshoot with some outlets calling for snow and others say cloudy. Blech.

Yeah, an ugly little start to winter precipitation in New England.  Pushed aside (twice) some wet snow and slush today & tonight....our driveway is on an incline so added some sand in case there is some freezing overnight...

Forty five degrees which is warm by your standards but a seemingly endless 40 mph wind.  I am sure it gusted a few times to 45+mph which for you guys up north and across the pond would be 72.4kph .  At least the wind keeps the coyotes, spiders and snakes away so that is a plus.

We have about 8 inches on the ground, and it's really fucking cold. -25 to -32 Celsius in the mornings for the last week, and it's supposed to continue for another week.

 I've never been at that cold in my life.

I miss the cold. We've had a little snow here this week and it's just irritating.
