Who Would Want to Meet These People?!

  1. Started by VPI,

  2. The whole AXPONA thing is a ploy. Electric Boogaloo is the real deal. Expect some Kumas burgers, whiskey, and cocktails later. Even the Holy Ghost may make an appearance.

http://www.head-fi.org/forums/showthread.php?t=245614 This is for anyone here who may not have seen the thread on head-fi. All head-casers of course are invited as well! As it states in the thread I am asking for a $15 contribution to help out with the rental fee for the clubhouse. I would love to have all the Ohio gang and whoever else if your willing to make the drive. Anyone from out of town that needs a place to crash, your more than welcome to crash at my place for the night.

November meet in Illinois. Many booze. Discuss.

  5. Started by Aura,

Hey folks, in just over a month Billy (bhd812) along with the rest of the CanJam 2010 organizing crew will be hosting the third annual ChiUniFi headphone meet at the Hyatt Regency O'Hare in Chicago, IL. This is the same venue that will be used for CanJam 2010 in Chicago, so this year may feel more like a test run for the big event next summer. We currently have two separate rooms reserved for this meet, will follow up with more details in the coming days. ~~~ To sum it up: Date: November 7th Time: 11 AM - 5PM (subject to change ) Place: Hyatt Regency O'Hare Fee: We don't have one Recommendations on what to bring: HC'ers don't need this ~~~ H…

  8. Started by Emooze,

It looks like we'll have enough folks for a quorum. Some details: I have a room/meeting space for anyone who wants to bring/listen to gear. It's at the Tangeman University Center at the University of Cincinnati and I will have the room for the majority of the day. Parking is unfortunately $10 for the day. The closest hotel for those interested is the Kingsgate Marriott. It is about 1 Mile from the center. I couldn't get a space at the hotel, they were having some big conference that weekend. It is also, as Todd pointed out, Head-Case's 8th birthday that day. With that in mind, I wasn't planning on advertising this anywhere else.

  9. Would there be any interest in getting a meet up and running? Would be willing to travel to Columbus if easier for all. Seems like a lot of Ohio heads just waiting for a music party. This area seems to be taboo since the whole Mikey1 party got pissed on. Really would like to hear some serious rigs to know in what direction to continue my home hp project. So far I have a SP Platinum and 701s. I am wanting to listen to some sources & hps to find out my sound before spending $$$ for a decent component. I just need some folk to show off some primo gear.

  11. Started by Luminette,

Hey guys. I have a mini-meet coming up here that I am hosting at my place on both Nov 1st and Nov 2nd (second day is more an optional ordeal - not sure we'll have enough to make it worth it but I wanted to set aside more time for being objective in reviews and such) I haven't posted about it on Head-Fi because of the obvious, and that I only want so many people in my home. I'd be happy to bring in more HCers It will be in Denver, right off of the i-25 & Yale / i-25 & Hampden exits (sandwiched between the two) If you're interested, just PM me and I'll give you all the details

  12. Saw this mentioned over at Audio Asylum. I'm sure at least a few of the NorCal folks here will probably want to attend. Lots of interesting vendors too: California Audio Show by Dagogo At first I was semi-interested in traveling out for it, but man, whoever picked a location way out in Emeryville needs a smack upside the head. The hotel venue isn't even close to at least the Oakland airport?! The date will probably be a conflict for me anyway, but that is some serious planning ineptitude. Way to kill the incentive for out-of-town travelers.

  13. Started by mypasswordis,

I hear through the grapevine that Hirsch and a few others will be making an appearance... it will be nice to see him for the first in awhile. Will either Peter (Dusty/Iron) be there?

Who wants to do something? I can only take so many people - it's my home. And the more we get, the noisier things are and the less objective anyone can be - and I like to put out impressions from my meets It'd be nice to see some new faces - I know I've got Denver people hiding in the woodwork Rough date for this now will be December 13th - a Saturday. If you have any interest, go ahead and post or PM me and let me know what you've got - it'd be nice if we could setup something reasonable like a mini shoot-out of three solid state amps in the same price range - things of this nature (with any kind of gear). You can get ahold of me via an instant messenger (I'…

  16. Started by Duggeh,

So. Lets begin to poke with the stick at the button which releases the ball which might trigger the big lever which grinds the gear that activates the idea that a European meet is a good idea. Has there been a Headfest/Canjam which has not in some very significant manner involved those within the Head-Case userbase? No to understanding, no. So it seems logical to start this thread here. The counter-logic is the lower participation of Euro-HC people compared to NewWorld-HC people here compared to there. Also the very high posting for Amsterdam headphone nuts at HF then here. Amsterdam seems to have, by a process of many months of abortive whinging and then pre-emptory s…

  17. I haven't noticed the existence of any Manitoba head-casers besides myself, but in case it's relevant to anyone here, there is a meet this Sunday (ie. in three days) in Winnipeg at 2 pm. There is a thread on head-fi you can check out for details here: http://www.head-fi.org/forum/thread/429399/ic-winnipeg-meet/90#post_6638330 For directions to our gracious host's place, pm Armaegis on head-fi.

  18. Started by NightWoundsTime,

Just realized that the biggest beer weekend in Florida is at the same time as that Axpona nonsense. Well, the stars should align and some people should pop in for a beerfest or two, and possibly a meet if we can stay sober long enough. Best Florida Beer Championships - Calendar of Events Will post more later.

  19. Well Florida has been silent for far too long. We plan to get together Saturday 11/16 for maybe a bit of gear sampling while we drink a few bottles from Mike and my beer collection. There should likely be a trip to the Funky Buddha Brewery, maybe a bicycle ride the following morning and how knows what else. Gene has decided to make an appearance so the meet is titled in his honor! So far Mike, Vicky, Raffy, Carl and Bonnie are on the attendee list but all Head Case folks are welcome. If anyone is still interested in gear I've got the AK 100 and HiFIMan 901 around if you wanted to check these out. I can also call over to JH and see if we can scrounge the demo of the R…

  20. Started by mrarroyo,

Ron (HiFlight) is a member of a Yatch Club in Fort Myers and has access to a large salon. He already hosted a meet there and IMO it is a very nice venue at a good per person cost of $15 including lunch (soup, sandwich bar, and cookies). If there is interest I will post pictures of the location and of the water views from the salon. I personally was surprised at how nice the Fort Myers downtown, pictures are also available. Any one here interested in attending? Thanks.

  21. Tampa Winter Meet will be the weekend of 12/10-12 So, we're throwing around dates, and it seems like the weekend of December 3/4/5 is the least offensive to the parties that matter. That being the case, I hereby declare that there WILL be a Florida meet (Team Florida attendance is mandatory to maintain gold status) the weekend of December 3, 4, 5, 2010. Early arrivals and late departures are encouraged and expected. Where - Tampa ... any out of towners can book flights to TPA, and we will accommodate you. If not by picking you up, you will have explicit directions for transport to meet. I am very conflicted about about gear, so have decided to make this a gear…

OK, it's really the West Michigan Meet, but since I'm hosting and 02-20-10 is my birthday, i'll call it what I want. I have it as an IC on the other site but I intend to have the meet either way. It will be at my office in Grandville, MI. Details here (to be updated periodically).

  24. Started by Absorbine_Sr,

Starting the thread to see who is interested in getting together in Austin in November 2012 for the US Grand Prix Formula One race/Head-Case brouhaha. Race interest or enthusiasm is not required, as a Head-Case family get together is an event unto itself. luvdunhill has mentioned he has room for some people to crash at his house. I'll let him chime in with the details. I'm calling dibs on two spots there for Debbie and I. In trade, if he is interested I will buy his race ticket. And if not I'll compensate some other way. So, who's interested?

  25. Started by Asr,

Just a heads-up for the NorCal folks who don't keep track of HF these days: http://www.head-fi.org/forum/thread/525693/bay-area-meet-california-february-19th-2011 Same location as last year's meet that Al did. Looks like an interesting meet especially with the vendors - Fang, Jason from Schiit, Doc from Bottlehead, Ultimate Ears, etc. The sheer number of people on the attendee list is astounding....
