Well its not like the stax mafia aren't busy and we certainly are not going to do an output stage with 8ma of current, and therefore no reason for a 4 stage amp, and since tube inputs seem to be the big thing lately, well might as well take the kgsshv-carbon design and replace the input fet with an input triode. bonus, no low voltage supplies. not a bonus, ksa1156 and ksc5026 run at close to 1 watt each. I should have a real t8000 end of june, but this should keep some of you busy. I expect joamat to have one built in less than 24 hours. no, no circuit board yet about 70 volts on the plate of the tube, same as t2. optical servo from kgsshv-carbon will work fine (but then you need the low voltage supplies) kgsshvcarbontubeinput.PDF4 points

No, I have never listened to Justin's BHSE. I know it looks a lot better than mine1 point

No, I haven’t. I guess it’s some sort of EMI. One question is how to stop it and another is how it effects the quality of the amplifier. Now I’m most interested in if the DC/DC converter can be used at all. One T2 is modified with DC/DC converters and it seems to work alright. The idea with DC/DC converter is IMO absolutely worth being tested.1 point

I have a feeling that even if we turn into a post-apocalyptic society, you'd probably find a way to DJ Test Tone on pirate Internet. pInternet...no, wait, faux-nternet...Iinternet.1 point

Our little boy is all grown up! Hell, he probably doesn't even chug expensive whiskey, and puke at parties anymore! It's been fun watching the change in your perceptions and attitudes. But I'd kind of like to see you get drunk and reach for the TICE again, just once more before you abandon youth altogether! Hah! Your not too old to embarrass on your Birthday! Justin, have a fabulous day!1 point

It's been a long while since we did the simplified and improved T2 but it won't sound like the real deal. Better yes, but not the same.1 point

Beautiful piece of work, Kerry In the recent months I've been slowly working on my T2, ended up rebuilding the entire amp board with mostly new parts. Just in the off chance that it was something in the board itself which caused the noise I was hearing. Thankfully nothing blew up, the batteries adjusted to 741V, and it plays music. I could still hear a background noise in it though. Having listened to George's T2 as well I was all but convinced this is just the normal noise level for this amp. I asked JoaMat about his solid state inputs for the T2, and he was kind enough to send them to me to test out (thanks!). Amazingly enough they worked. The amp is still not utterly dead silent, but it's to the point where it's below the background noise level of my room (which is as close to silent as I can make it). I've also ordered some heatsinks for the 2SC3840s so I wouldn't have to worry about them getting too hot. With either input set though, I've been having some sporadic noise on the right channel. Sometimes it's a random noticeable "pfff", sometimes it gets stuck noticeably louder. The latter is usually solved by unplugging/replugging in the headphones. Very strange. Aside from an overlooked loose connection or a bad solder joint somewhere I'm not sure what it could be. Anyway please excuse my blurry photos.1 point

No, I suspect what happened was, someone yelled, "suspicious package", because I've been carrying them around in that generic hardware case that Chris gave me, and it's a little beat up looking, which would make it even more suspicious, and my "look" on the train is a hoodie and sunglasses, so if they saw who left it... But your point is still valid, and for that, I am grateful. There are a lot of good people on the train. And it's rubbed off on me -- I've gotten out of my seat so that two people could sit together, and I think when other people observe that sort of behaviour, they try to do it, too. It certainly worked on me. Especially when it's the same people on the train every day, and you kinda sorta get to know each other. Every time I bring a salad on the train, that same conductor always stops me and asks me if I know the rule about food on the train ("share it with the conductor"), to which I try to respond with something different every time. (My favourite was, "bring a treat for the good ones, give the assholes a hard time", to which I was ready to respond with a cookie if he asked me which one was he, but that was the one time he didn't ask me. Dagnabit.) Yeah, I've been leaving a lot of stuff -- prescription glasses (also got those back), hoodie in a restaurant (got that back too), winter plaid hunter's cap (never got that back). Geezin' sucks. On the bright side, my doctor thinks it all boils down to sleep apnea, so as soon as I can start using my bi-pap regularly, I should see an improvement in my behavior. Also, I called them as soon as I realized, and the conductor now knows me by sight, so he went out of his way to find them.1 point

Watched it a few months back. I was pretty young when the debates happened, but I remember the hub bub. Mostly I remember my Dad using the word "faggot", and feeling very awkward and hurt, but of course I just did what most gay boys did back then, and receded inward. Watching them recently was a whole new experience. Much more prideful. Spending time with my Oldest Brother recently, and laughing at gay things, with absolutely no malice, reinforces how far we've all come. Gore was a first role model for me, as even my Dad respected his insight and wit. Dad did come around eventually. The City and the Pillar was the first gay novel I ever read, and that started a change inside me that started the revelation that I was not alone.1 point

Way back in December I set the UK police system on the trail of this scam merchant, who was targetting US and other nationality buyers for high ticket audio items, getting the money, and sending no goods. He seemed to have been operating for years. Anyhow, I have just had a call from West Mercia Police asking me to confirm what my recollection was of his modus operandum. We chatted for a while, and I wished her good luck in finding the guy. "Oh - we know precisely who he is" So the system works - they have the bastard!1 point

I've got to hand it to the little man. He loses his sister, gets his tooth knocked out, then comes out and puts 53 on the Wiz in an overtime win. Pretty damn impressive. Oh, and he was the last pick in the draft and is the shortest guy in the NBA.1 point
