January 25, 201313 yr Al, hope it doesn't affect your ability to raise a glass or two. You may have to take up left handed drinking for the duration.
January 25, 201313 yr Oooh, what's on the horizon? Working on a little sumpin'. Al, hopefully a little pain now means less in the long run.
January 25, 201313 yr Learned I'd actually paid off the house in October, but somehow missed it. Seems anti-climatic when the big moment is fused with "how stupid can I be?" realities.
January 25, 201313 yr Learned I'd actually paid off the house in October, but somehow missed it. Seems anti-climatic when the big moment is fused with "how stupid can I be?" realities. Nice Vicki!!!
January 25, 201313 yr Congrats Vicki, wish I could say the same but given the recent refi I'm now just about as far away from paying it off as I've ever been...
January 25, 201313 yr Al -- so many jokes, but I will refrain -- what Nate and Shelly said -- wishing you a minimum of discomfort and ultimate realization of your ...um...no, I said I'd refrain...sorry... Vicki -- you'll get over the self-recriminations -- much more rewarding to have a house paid off than forget to pay -- I've never had, but I've had a car paid off (in fact, I've always had my car paid off since the 80's), and even that is a pretty good feeling.
January 25, 201313 yr Congrats, Vicki! My brother did that sort of thing when he was in college. Thought he had two more courses to graduate, and signed up for them for the Spring semester. Then in the middle of February, he was applying for a job so had to request a transcript. Looks at the thing, and says, "Shit! Says here I graduated in December!" Of course, he was quite the stoner, so it's no wonder...
January 25, 201313 yr Way to go Vicki! My mortgage is lingering. I need to put it out of its misery. But then I'll have to suck it up and take care of all the taxes and insurance and whatnot (which in Florida are more than and infinitely more hassle than the mortgage itself) So I'm dragging my feet a bit.
January 25, 201313 yr Good luck Al. Hope the surgery goes well for you. Congratulations Vicki. I like that you didn't notice it was paid for. A good surprise.
January 25, 201313 yr Indeed, what has been said. Hope this resolves longer-term issues, Al. And I'm sure having some extra $ in the bank account each month will allow you to get over the anti-climactic feeling Vicki.
January 25, 201313 yr Sorry to hear about yoru wrist issues, Al. Here's hoping the surgey can clear things up. Congrats on the house, Vicki!
January 25, 201313 yr very jealous on the mortgage i think i have 27 years left. I'm waiting for more inflation before getting aggressive w/ extra payments
January 25, 201313 yr Al ... arthritis sucks, but sounds like doc has a handle on things, and surgery followed by long recovery and pt will pay off. Surgery tools and techniques have come a long way in 24 years. Good thoughts for successful procedure and full use of hand and digits.
January 25, 201313 yr Al good luck with the surgery,I had carpal tunnel on my right hand about 9 years ago years I had the operation on it ,its been good since. Congrats Vicky on the mortgage,Its a nice feeling to have it paid off.
January 25, 201313 yr Yay Vicki, great news. Congratulations!!! Al, bad news yet good news. I like when health problems seem to have a solution. Best wishes.
January 26, 201313 yr I've been officially accepted into the Air Force Institute of Technology and will be going back to school full-time sometime in late summer. So I'll be leaving the awesome Florida crew and joining the Ohio group. Edited January 26, 201313 yr by Emooze
