Who Would Want to Meet These People?!

  1. Started by jp11801,

The summer NorCal meet is set up for Saturday 6/28/2008 in San Mateo at the Hilton Garden Inn Hotel in the Iris room. The room is 1100 square feet and will hold 18 6 foot tables. This set up should hold up to 36 member rigs or less with vendor set ups. We have the room from 10am to 6pm we have power on all four walls but members will need to bring power strips to distribute power. I will be contacting the usual vendors to see if there is an interest in coming to our meet. Craig from Eddie Current has said he should be there with a new amp that he has been fine tuning since CanJam. Here is the Hotel information Hilton Garden Inn Hotel San Mateo California - San Mateo Ai…

Head-Fi/Can Jam @ Rocky Mountain Audio Fest 2009 (CJ@RMAF 2009): It's Official! - Head-Fi: Covering Headphones, Earphones and Portable Audio Awesome news! As if I weren't already excited enough about this year's RMAF, a huge Head-Fi meet to go with it at the same time!!! Hey jp, if there's anything I can do to help out, let me know. And for the uninitiated: http://www.audiofest.net (Oct 2-4 @ Marriott Denver Tech Center & Hilton Garden Inn)

  3. Noon to 5, a few people will be hanging out, should be some interesting gear present.

  4. Started by acidbasement,

I just saw Tyll mention this on FB. Remarkably, it looks as if I'll be in the area with my family. My wife will be working and I'll be hanging out with the kids, who probably will make me suffer if I try to take them to a trade show. I'd love to get together for extracurricular activities though. Anyone else planning to be there?

  5. Started by Emooze,

It looks like we'll have enough folks for a quorum. Some details: I have a room/meeting space for anyone who wants to bring/listen to gear. It's at the Tangeman University Center at the University of Cincinnati and I will have the room for the majority of the day. Parking is unfortunately $10 for the day. The closest hotel for those interested is the Kingsgate Marriott. It is about 1 Mile from the center. I couldn't get a space at the hotel, they were having some big conference that weekend. It is also, as Todd pointed out, Head-Case's 8th birthday that day. With that in mind, I wasn't planning on advertising this anywhere else.

The Audio-Video Club of Atlanta is proposing a headphone meet on Sunday, May 7, 2017 from 12 to 5 PM. The proposed location is at the Dunwoody North Driving Club, north of Atlanta. Detailed directions will be provided later in this post. Local retailers and popular manufacturers will be invited and all headphone enthusiasts are encouraged to attend. This is a no-charge event.

  7. Started by NightWoundsTime,

Just realized that the biggest beer weekend in Florida is at the same time as that Axpona nonsense. Well, the stars should align and some people should pop in for a beerfest or two, and possibly a meet if we can stay sober long enough. Best Florida Beer Championships - Calendar of Events Will post more later.

  8. Started by boomana,

I'm only going to be at the meet on Saturday, and as proved true in nearly every meet, you only get to really listen to a few things. Things I don't want to miss: The HeadRoom/Sennheiser room Symth demo - I missed it last year by being either too busy or lazy to wait in line Frank Cooter's creations whatever they may be Ironbut's rig - I just loved it in Mayberry New Shure headphones - just curious 909's rig - I've heard L3000 with that amp, curious about the source jp11801's new toys Since I'm not looking to get anything new this year (so I say now), I'm not going to be tempting myself too much. What's on your lists of must hear?

  9. Started by tyrion,

I'm thinking of having a meet the weekend of March 7, 2009. Location is not determined but likely will be at one of the hotels in the Plantation area. This isn't definite. I will decide whether to go with it after I see how much interest there is. I do not anticipate any vendors in attendance with CJ '09 two or so months later and that it will likely be a small meet.

  13. Started by DigiPete,

So, sorry to the Florida crew, but since I got here first, I thought I would start this thread properly Got here last night at 1130 and had a warm welcome by our host Grawk. Got down to business and broke out the HC Glencairn glasses and toasted to an enjoyable week with some Glenrothes and some Grande Fine Metaxa. The house is beautiful, all the kids and wives have run out to the beach, while me and Dan are on our computers and listening to the Kill Bill soundtrack. Should be a fun week coming up!!

  15. I'm doing the name tags for the meet, so if any Head Casers are going, shoot me an e-mail [email protected] with your screen name and real name. Thanks USG

  16. For anyone that may be interested in attending the meet or hitting me in the back of the head with a shovel, the "official" announcement for the Illinois meet is up on that other site HERE. Feel free to post there, or if more appropriate, here. Thank you for your time. Carry on.

  18. This is aimed at jpizzle, and nate: Would one of you be willing to host a meet for the three of us, as suggested in another thread? The weekend that was looking the best, was that of August 11-12. Would we all be able to make it then?

  19. Started by jp11801,

Not sure what hotel it is going to be held at yet but the date is firm and it will be held near SFO (between the towns of San MAteo and Burlingame most likely). Hope to see you there, we'll probably do something either after or the night before in San Francisco as well.

  20. Started by Asr,

Looks like it'll be a great year for audio shows in California! THE Show - June 3-5: http://www.theshownewport.com/2011n/mainpage.php in Newport Beach @ Hilton Orange County Airport CA Audio Show - July 15-17: http://www.caaudioshow.com/ in Burlingame @ Crowne Plaza SFO Already have my flight booked for the CA Audio Show in NorCal. Would have liked to go to the THE show too but the timing is bad for me on that one. Hope to run into some HC-ers either way, I'll most likely be there only on the Saturday 7/16 though (small chance I might also be there on Sunday 7/17).

  21. Started by mypasswordis,

I just thought I'd pass along info about a meet happening in my area that's coming up pretty soon, in case anyone on here didn't know about it and is itching to try some gear and meet some people. I'm still not 100% sure I can make it but I'm pretty sure I can. Just a heads-up for the NorCal folks who don't keep track of HF these days: http://www.head-fi.org/forum/thread/525693/bay-area-meet-california-february-19th-2011 Same location as last year's meet that Al did. Looks like an interesting meet especially with the vendors - Fang, Jason from Schiit, Doc from Bottlehead, Ultimate Ears, etc. The sheer number of people on the attendee list is astounding....

  24. Thrice threw a party, and it turns out it was mostly a head-case meet. I had a blast, and got to hear HE90s from a shuffle. My life is complete.

  25. The whole AXPONA thing is a ploy. Electric Boogaloo is the real deal. Expect some Kumas burgers, whiskey, and cocktails later. Even the Holy Ghost may make an appearance.
