I've been playing this for a couple of weeks and this is one of the more fun physics based puzzle games I've played. And I do enjoy my physics games World of Goo is an indie developed game that has you use blobs of goo to try and build structures that will lead the goo to their freedom by an exit pipe. The game starts off very easy, but ramps up in difficulty pretty quickly. World of Goo Free demo on Steam and the system requirements aren't high. Youtube trailer:

Saw a video on gametrailers today about the most anticipated games and I just realized that this year is going to be awesome. I know lots of people called last year great, but none of the games really appealed to me. And I don't have or plan on buying an Xbox 360. But this year: Metal Gear 4, GT 4, Final Fantasy 13, Street Fighter 4, Fallout 3 and Starcraft 2. I've spent most of my gaming youth playing their predecessors. Maybe not so innovative but 2008 is going to be great.

I know it was announced a while ago. But today they released some more news at Blizzard Invitational. Gameplay video and a cinematic trailer. Both available as a Bit Torrent download at their website.

I am just finishing up Mass Effect for the first time, and immediately wanted to replay it as a different character. I love RPGs that have really high replay value. I think ME will be good for at least another good play through. This got me thinking about other games I've owned (specifically RPGs) and whether or not it was fun to replay them. IMO the grandmaster of all replayable games is Oblivion. Not only because of the huge amount of mods available, but also because of the many different ways you can play your character, and the ease with which one can RP. So I've got the wife's approval on this but I want a rational full run down of why I really should do this. The list that I can come up with goes like this: 1. BluRay player, probably the best of the bunch until Oppo comes out with theirs which may not be until early 09. - Now the question is how is it as a BR player? I'm still on my Final Fantasy XIV binge, because there's so goddamn much still for me to do in it despite the countless hours I've logged playing it. Thinking about buying one or the other for my two sons for xmas. They currently have a PS2. I don't think they would be interested in playing any of their old games, and not sure what newer games they are interested in, though I would guess it would be Call of Duty, etc. I know they used to play the ones where you run around the city being a gangsta of some type, forget the name (keep thinking Sin City, but that was a movie) So, which one to go for? I'd always wanted an online co-op first person shooter zombie survival game. And it's coming out. It's looking really awesome. There are some new footage from PAX up on Gametrailers.com -Ed

I just started playing this game last week and I have to say it's pretty amazing. It really reminds me of the classic Need for Speed games (Most Wanted, particularly – the first one). I didn't know there was an in-car view... that's what put me off the game when it was released. The graphics and physics are pretty good for an arcade racer. I'm looking forward to getting more cars and leaving Rookie status behind... life is all about money and rep. Also, the soundtrack is entertaining for the period. If you follow cars, this game will really date itself (2008). A lot of the cars (like the Cadillac XLR-V) are long extinct.

Anyone else playing this? It's like those old Streets of Rage/Ninja Turtles/X-Men arcade side scrollers on crack. Get 3 friends and it's incredibly fun. Anyone with a 360 owes it to themselves to spend 12 bucks on it.

2011 looks like it's going to be another busy year for great games and in the next month or so I'll be looking at getting: Killzone 3, Bulletstorm, Dragon Age 2, Dawn of War II: Retribution and maybe Homefront. What games are you guys looking forward to picking up this year?

Yes, I'm a sucker for Zelda and Nintendo Portables. I pre-ordered the Switch and Breath of the Wild. Anyone else getting the Switch? I still have my original Game Boy from 1989. Also many other iterations afterwards. I'll have to post a Nintendo Portables line up picture when I get the Switch.

Recently I had been toying with the idea of streaming and making videos, but had been dragging my feet on actually starting...
