Who Would Want to Meet These People?!

  1. Started by mypasswordis,

I just thought I'd pass along info about a meet happening in my area that's coming up pretty soon, in case anyone on here didn't know about it and is itching to try some gear and meet some people. I'm still not 100% sure I can make it but I'm pretty sure I can. 2. Started by FallenAngel,

Hi guys, I'm hosting a meet at the party room of my condo in Toronto, Ontario. Full details at Head-Fi. Anybody interested in coming is welcome. If possible, please post in the HF thread, if not, post here and I'll simply put you on the other list. Thanks and hope to see you there.

  3. Started by grawk,

http://www.head-fi.org/forums/showthread.php?t=257488 I'm offering to host the next dc area meet. Crash space available at my house in PA, potentially.

  4. Thrice threw a party, and it turns out it was mostly a head-case meet. I had a blast, and got to hear HE90s from a shuffle. My life is complete.

  5. Started by justin,

Just an interest check to see if anyone would want to attend a meet in Charlottesville, VA. I could rent a mansion in wine country on ~30 acres for less than $200 per night. Events besides headphones/speakers could include getting drunk at a local vineyard, concert (schedules not released yet), Monticello tours, other crap etc. I would think sometime in August or September would be a good time. Local airport: CHO 70 min drive: Richmond (RIC) 2 hour drive Dulles (IAD) --> mass transit is available, but is annoying. Have to take a bus to the suburban metro station, take the metro into DC, transfer to the line for Union Station, and then take Amtrak south. Would…

  10. I would like to invite everyone to CanLanta 2016! Saturday May 21st at the place we've had the past couple big Atlanta meets, which has been a nice venue. I'll copy from the post on HF, but Tyll is coming back to Atlanta for the first time in a long time, and we're excited to have him back. I hear through the grapevine that there are some premiere d-_-b approved, but not sure it's public knowledge yet, so I'll let that MOT speak up if he's so inclined. John M and the boys in Atlanta have done a lot of work getting this off the ground, and I think it's going to be a nice event. Travel Team, let's make it happen. **BRENT** Canlanta 2016: It’…

  11. Started by Asr,

Just a heads-up for the NorCal folks who don't keep track of HF these days: http://www.head-fi.org/forum/thread/525693/bay-area-meet-california-february-19th-2011 Same location as last year's meet that Al did. Looks like an interesting meet especially with the vendors - Fang, Jason from Schiit, Doc from Bottlehead, Ultimate Ears, etc. The sheer number of people on the attendee list is astounding....

  12. Started by justin,

Peter is on his way here for several days. Anyone want to stop by that weekend?

  13. Started by tkam,

Cinci sucks but we're having a meet there anyways

  14. Started by tyrion,

My wife and daughter will be out of town the weekend of 7/17 - 7/19. I am considering a small meet at the house, sort of like Gene has done. I have bedrooms with beds, one with a air mattress and 3 sleepable couches. I am not sure whether about this but if the interest is there, I might consider it. I have a trial about 10 days later so it may depend on how intense the preparation is for it. I would like to limit the meet to about 10 including room for about 6 in the house. Not expecting any out of towners with CJ just passed and DanJam coming up. You are all welcome but I understand if the usuals are unable to make it.

  15. Hey guys, I've been contacted by the President of the Audio-Video Club of Atlanta seeking area "Can Heads" to get involved with the show, which is April 14-17, 2011. Fitz, tomb, Tom_Hankins, Purk... You guys get in touch with me if interested and I'll let you know who to talk to to find out more. Is there anyone else around who may be interested? Trav? http://www.axpona.com/ I hope to find out soon if maybe there would be some need/desire for some MOTs there as well. If anyone knows of a HF'er who's local who isn't on HC, let me know that as well, thanks. **BRENT**

  16. Saw this mentioned over at Audio Asylum. I'm sure at least a few of the NorCal folks here will probably want to attend. Lots of interesting vendors too: California Audio Show by Dagogo At first I was semi-interested in traveling out for it, but man, whoever picked a location way out in Emeryville needs a smack upside the head. The hotel venue isn't even close to at least the Oakland airport?! The date will probably be a conflict for me anyway, but that is some serious planning ineptitude. Way to kill the incentive for out-of-town travelers.

  17. Started by Absorbine_Sr,

Starting the thread to see who is interested in getting together in Austin in November 2012 for the US Grand Prix Formula One race/Head-Case brouhaha. Race interest or enthusiasm is not required, as a Head-Case family get together is an event unto itself. luvdunhill has mentioned he has room for some people to crash at his house. I'll let him chime in with the details. I'm calling dibs on two spots there for Debbie and I. In trade, if he is interested I will buy his race ticket. And if not I'll compensate some other way. So, who's interested?

  18. Started by PFKMan23,

Anyone interested in getting together for a SF Bay Area mini meet or or something of that sort around July or so?

  19. Update: CanLanta 2013 May 4th, 2013 Time: TBA Marriott Century Center http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/atlne-atlanta-marriott-century-center-emory-area/ Link for Hotel at discounted rate Original: Hey guys and gals, Some of the Atlanta crew is looking to throw together a shindig in the spring. We usually have a decent turnout locally, and we sometimes partner with a big audio club in the area which gets some of the speaker guys out to play, but this year we're wanting to see if some of you guys would be interested in heading out to check out Atlanta for a few days (with a meet in the middle.) We have a venue that would probably be able to house a CanJam …

  20. Started by boomana,

I'm only going to be at the meet on Saturday, and as proved true in nearly every meet, you only get to really listen to a few things. Things I don't want to miss: The HeadRoom/Sennheiser room Symth demo - I missed it last year by being either too busy or lazy to wait in line Frank Cooter's creations whatever they may be Ironbut's rig - I just loved it in Mayberry New Shure headphones - just curious 909's rig - I've heard L3000 with that amp, curious about the source jp11801's new toys Since I'm not looking to get anything new this year (so I say now), I'm not going to be tempting myself too much. What's on your lists of must hear?

  21. Started by tom_hankins,

I'll post some more details later. Here are general photos of most of the rooms...

  25. Started by Asr,

Looks like it'll be a great year for audio shows in California! THE Show - June 3-5: http://www.theshownewport.com/2011n/mainpage.php in Newport Beach @ Hilton Orange County Airport CA Audio Show - July 15-17: http://www.caaudioshow.com/ in Burlingame @ Crowne Plaza SFO Already have my flight booked for the CA Audio Show in NorCal. Would have liked to go to the THE show too but the timing is bad for me on that one. Hope to run into some HC-ers either way, I'll most likely be there only on the Saturday 7/16 though (small chance I might also be there on Sunday 7/17).
