Wild and Crazy Go Nuts!

  1. Started by justin,

Jude has posted a video on facebook and an update If you're on facebook just search for Head-Fi, go to groups, and then the larger Head-Fi one, and you'll see the video --- THE POST --- This is the datacenter I've been living in with a couple of my workmates for the last several days, working with vendors and technicians from all over (Seattle, Australia, Michigan, California and Germany) to try to get our primary networked attached storage (NAS) unit to give us our data back. Unfortunately, things are not going well so far, everyone. The recovery efforts that we've been guided through have so far proved fruitless, but we will continue to work on it until we'v…

Hello germs, I originally posted this topic on guttersluts.com but really didn't get the responses I was looking for so I figured I would come over here and post it to a less trashy(?) group of sluts. Ok, so I know we all love our stuff and shit but every once in a while we need to write shit down. My reason for writing shit is usually job related. So my hobby is collecting fine government writing instruments made by the fine handicapped people at Skilcraft. The great thing is they are free (unless your a tax payer) and most people just leave them laying around so it's easy to get a good collection. My day usually starts with me using a .5mm mechanical pencil to…

I was going to start this thread a few times, and think of doing so every time I find something I use daily or near daily, and it makes me very very happy each time, like my JH13s and ipod, or Tabasco Sauce. Can be a little nothing, like Tabasco Sauce or something big that you don't regret spending the money on, even if it made you wince to do so at first. Anyway, I've lately come across some things that may even have been around for awhile, but I can't believe how happy they make me every time I use them. Here are a few of my new favorite things: Moisture wicking clothing! Why didn't anyone tell me about this stuff before? I'd been working out in any old cott…

  6. Unfortunately, it was people with attitudes like that which got us the idiot we've had now for 7 years. Don't misunderstand, I know what you are saying but at least there are two candidates that will do things a bit differently than they've been done for the last 7 years. Again, not perfect but certainly an improvement. Sorry, I didn't mean to jump on you like that but I hate when I hear people talk like this because if something doesn't change, things will be even worse than they are now, especially if a Republican gets to appoint more Justices to the Supreme Court.

Other site does this and I think it's great for the community. Maybe some of us feel too rebellious to just lift the idea but - that'd be retarded. Hc is a pretty tightly-knit community and I'm personally interested in intertwining it even more with itself.. and, really, just doing something nice for the holiday season. We like gifts, and surprises. As long as we have at least two pairs of people, this is a go. Additionally, I'm going to donate $1 to HC for every person that does this Here's how it'll go: I'll try to match people by country. I encourage everyone to be up for shipping something internationally, just so that we don't end up with a few guy…

  11. This whole Connecticut shooting today really has my hackles up. I can't help but think that if the victims, or in this case the teachers, were armed that there would be fewer casualties when a person snaps and goes on a rampage somewhere. http://www.foxnews.com/us/2012/12/14/police-respond-to-shooting-at-connecticut-elementary-school/ What in the world would drive someone to shoot and kill 20 innocent elementary school children !?!??!?!

  15. Just wanted to let everyone know that Larry and his daughter were in a terrible car accident this week. Another driver approaching Larry from the opposite direction lost control of his vehicle when both were approaching a previous crash site. The oncoming driver crossed the highway in front of Larry's car and they collided at high speed. Both Larry and his daughter survived but sustained several major injuries. Luckily for them, the EMS folks were literally mins away at the previous crash site and were treating their injuries almost immediately. Larry sustained fractures in both legs, a broken ankle and a number of fractured ribs. He's already had two surgeries since the…

I don't know why it took me so long to realize this but it occurred to me as I started to write this that I've been fundraising through rides like this every year that Andrew's been alive. That makes me both proud and feel rather old. So without further adieu it's that time of year once again where I call upon the incredible generosity and support of this community to help me raise money for the Kelly Brush Foundation. Nate's Donation Page This year is no different than years past, well other than the fact that I'm even later starting fundraising than normal and the ride is earlier than usual. So in just under three weeks I'll head north west into the …

hi there i don't know if it's a taboo question, but was just wondering how come this place isn't ever mentioned on head-fi? am i missing something? is it supposed to be private only (i read some archives and noticed it was invite only at one stage) the reason i ask is that before i read the wikipedia article on headphones (of which this forum is linked, so it mustn't be that private) i had no idea this place existed and it seems like a great place when head-fi's a bit too much. i'd like to continue hanging here so before i get too carried away i just wanted to understand how things roll around here could someone please clarify? thanks, dave

He's arriving on Tuesday via special bus from Alabama. I met his brother, who arrived this past week, and fell in love. I've never had a dog before, but passively wanted one for years. After meeting Henry, his brother, then contacting the breeder and seeing his little guy's pics, I knew he was my dog. I don't know how else to explain it, since I'm as surprised as anyone. He's a Cavaton, half Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and half Coton de Tulear. He was born on June 24. This breeder likes to keep them longer for socialization and health checks. He was raised in a house with two kids, five adult dogs, and his litter mates. Supposed, he's the mellowest of the li…

  22. Yes, what the title says. I need help. Apparently, the almuni committee where I work voted, and I was chosen, among a few others, to be in a dunk tank for a fund-raising event tomorrow where alumni, family, and other staff puchase balls to throw. I have just been told I am supposed to heckle the throwers. This is sooooo not my forte. The only things I can think of to say probably are what got me in the voted in the dunk tank in the first place, but hardly heckles, or else wildly inappropriate things that would guarantee I'd never be in the dunk tank again, as I would have no more job. Anyway, have at it peoples. I know this is a talented bunch. Give me your best l…
