Wild and Crazy Go Nuts!

  1. Started by kelvinz,

Hi! Brand new to this forum, found it after being on headfi for 4 years. Curious as to what makes this forum stand out over headfi? Can we discuss cable DBT here?

One of these days we'll have to have a joint Birthday party (not that kind of joint). Have an incredible day Colin! Treat yourself to a meal for a change! And maybe a new pair of zipper boots...

So I've been thinking about getting a cat for a few months now and I've started narrowing down the breeds I'm interested in. Here's the short list so far: British Shorthair Scottish Flop Siberian Any other suggestions from fellow head-case cat owners?

I am making this my official thread for pet peeves. Every night the cleaning people empty my garbage can, and put it on the other side of my cubicle. Every morning I move it back. You think they would catch on at some point. I guess there is a reason they are night time janitors.

Many of us enjoy our pets and love animals. I make it a habit to support businesses that support my causes including animal welfare. A local business has a long history of donating to the local animal shelter/humane society. http://www.mlive.com/news/grand-rapids/index.ssf/2016/10/bissell_hosts_local_animal_she.html#incart_river_home No disclaimer needed. Other than having clients that work there I have no vested interest in the company. Have one of their carpet cleaners which works as advertised. Something to consider when you purchase products that they make.

So the wife and I have decided that we want out of NJ... problem is we have no idea where to go. We have had enough with the traffic, people, rudeness, and all the lovely things NJ is known for. We would greatly appreciate any thoughts or suggestions. As an aid the wife and I are more outdoorsy people than city people but still like nice restaurants and amenities near by. We are currently looking at Austin TX, Nashua NH, Harrisbug PA area...

So I'm humidor shopping. Anyone know of a good online retailer? I've been browsing around at Thompson Cigar, and I really like the looks of this one.. Seems to fit the bill: spanish cedar, good size. Hard to know the quality though without holding it in my hands, but I'd like to avoid paying full retail at the local tobacconist if possible. Having said that, I'd rather pay for quality the first time rather then struggling through a bunch of crappy humidors. Where I live its hot and humid most of the year, if that makes any difference. Thanks!

Some of you are aware that Tyll has been attempting to start an International Headphone organization. The primary purpose of this organization would be to plan and hold the National and some large regional meets. It would also be an independent organization tasked with promoting the headphone hobby. The plan was to use the excess funds from the National meet to start this organization as a 501c3. Tyll has spent a great deal of time and energy working on this project. He stated from the very beginning that he wanted the organization to be democratic with an elected board. After it got going Tyll specifically did not want to be in charge of it. Well yesterday Jude basica…

  14. In a little less than a month I'm going to embark on a unique little cycling adventure. Through the course of 2 days (Sept 8 and 9th) I'll be riding a total of 100 miles through the northern part of NH with a group of truly amazing individuals. I've been working hard in preparation for this and have logged about 1,000 miles in the saddle. All of this is in support of Northeast Passage (www.nepassage.org) - NEP is a non-profit organization which provides athletic opportunities for the disabled, including golf, water skiing, hockey, rugby, etc. So if you're able I'd very much appreciate a little support, no amount is to small. There are multiple ways to make donations …

I guess there was a moment for all of us that got us interested in audio, electronics, science and so forth. To kick things off, this was got me going. In the UK during the 60's and 70's there was a series of educational books for children called the Ladybird books. It eventually ran to hundreds of topics, but were written in very clear language and with superb illustrations. It shows what an effect this had on me - I remember precisely the book - Magnets, Bulbs and Batteries. And thanks to the web, here it is www.vintage-radio.info/download.php?id=358 vintage 1962. I remember pretty much everything I built from that - and from the publication date I must have…

Sold my one and only bike about a dozen years ago. Getting the itch and have been looking at something to commute on and just have fun street riding. Maybe a weekend trip. Looking for a more upright riding geometry and more sport bike type responsiveness but touring bike comfort. Yea, there is no such thing but considering these bikes: Kawasaki Versys, Suzkui V Strom and a BMW F 800 GT. Haven't been for the all important test ride yet. So many bikes, so many niches. Stopped at two dealers today. Yin and yang. BMW sales person knowledgeable, good listener and had great advice. The Suzuki/Kawasaki sales person the polar opposite. Didn't know squat, ignored…

Dammit, don't you hate when you get to work (after a weekend of not shaving) and realize you missed a huge patch somewhere on your face? Bleh. Monday's suck... and worse yet, am hour was stolen from me this weekend.

This conversation came up at a 4th of July BBQ last night and it became an animated and opinionated debate. About 75 percent of the men at the party said that they do pee in the bathroom sink mostly because it's convenient. So, how about you?

  24. Started by Elephas,

I was playing around in the User CP a couple of weeks ago and came across a page where I could edit the custom title below my username. So I entered "Baby Elephant" because I'm a baby elephant. Now, I'm thinking of changing it, maybe to "Awesome Baby Elephant" or "Super Cool Baby Elephant" or something cool-sounding like that. But I can't find that custom title editing page anymore. Where did it go?
