There is no logic to it hitting someone so young.

One of the best professors I ever had, who went on to become president of Cornell, died from colon cancer at 52, literally weeks after being diagnosed.

That is awful. I have two friends in their 50s that are living through this. One has been through hell and back and is still here. The other went into remission for it to come back to the extent he has to wear a bag permanently.

If ever there was a case for extending screening to those younger than 60, all these horrible examples would stand a much better fighting chance.

Thank you for the links, Doug.  To lose someone so unique and prolific at the height of their output is a real gut punch.

Godspeed, Ms. Mae....

On behalf of my family, Al, please accept our sincere condolences.  Tough to wrap one's head around how much a part of the family a pet becomes.

Just terrible to hear, Al.  So sorry for the Bedecarre family this evening.

Sorry for you family's loss Al. Pets become valued family members, and their loss is significant.
