Wild and Crazy Go Nuts!

  1. Started by jp11801,

Well I'm heading to NYC (September 24-25) to hang with my favorite west coast lawyer. Any takers for a few pints at Barcade in Brooklyn

  2. Hey, before I forget again (Knuckledragger and I had posted awhile back) - we're all gonna start the big downward spiral in a few days. The next several months could be exciting so keep your cameras charged. A bit pissed I never got to hear the JH3A and was kinda looking forward to Apples next MBA, but I'm sure I'll be distracted, what with the gnashing of teeth and all. Evidently Saturdays start date is calculated both on Noahs boating trip (a day is a thousand years) and the letters in the date of JC starting that whole cross thing. And maybe something to do with Mayans. Possibly the return of Two and a Half Men. Anyway, sounds like Harold Camping has really done his ho…

I woke up to this. Pretty cool and mostly harmless since it is situated right between two glaciers which means little to no flooding.

  7. Not sure if any of you follow weather events for fun, but I bet Hurricane Irene will impact many of you East Coasters. If you are interested in following the event unfold, this link is about as good as it gets: http://www.talkweath...carolina-coast/ Looks like it will grind against the East Coast from N. Carolina to MasNoNoNoNoNoNosetts. It definitely has the potential to cause some serious damage. If you live in NYC, mass transit is expected to completely shut down for possible evacuations. If any of you are expected to feel the effects, stay safe and prepare now.

Well I'm not going to run a HFer of the year thread this year. I'm not on there much, and someone else can take on that role if wanted. I would like to continue the tradition over here however. I'd like to build a stand for the winner, just as I have the last two years over there. However due to my screw up with Voltron last year, I think it would be much better for someone else to take nominations, start the poll and take care of keeping track of the votes. Once decided I'll contact the winner for input into their trophy. Anyone game to take this on?

  9. For my 1000 post I thought I start something off. I didn't see a thread which had what places peeps here like to eat in their area and why. I work in downtown Honolulu, and for those not familiar with downtown Honolulu, it has a lot of places to eat. I was wondering what places you folks like to eat in your area and what do you like to eat there. I'll try to post something daily. This thread is inspired by my cultural upbringing regarding food. The thing about Hawaii is that food is a pretty essential part of our culture. For example, if someone at work goes on a trip they always bring back food from the place they were visiting. In our work area we have tons, and ton…

I got an order for some ceramic dildos from some progressive sex toy stores in the northwest. I thought you guys would find it amusing. If they sell I'll be able to afford the HD800's in no time. They can hold a vibrating egg and they have a base that will fit most strap-on harnesses in case any of you are interested. They just came off of the wheel so they haven't been fired yet which I probably won't do until I can figure out some safe and perfectly smooth glazes to put on them.

  11. I thought twice about posting this here since it became a bit long, but it's something I just wrote in my blog with my thoughts about this issue. I've been thinking about this quite a bit lately, and this text just contains my reflections on the subject. I know you guys are not very much into long texts - as I've learned in my JH13 review -, but I hope I can be excused since this isn't a review and to me it's a rather complex issue, so drying it out would probably make it less successful in expressing what's complex to me. I posted this here in the off-topic since that way, if no one becomes interested, it can simply become lost in oblivion or deleted. Still, if anyone…

So recently, a friend of mine sent an MBTI test my way and I found out my type. Then I asked my close friends and realized that every single one (5/5) are the same type. I was wondering if we have the same bias in this forum. If I were to guess, I'd say it wouldn't be as predominant but there would still be a skew towards the same type. Please don't read up on the test before you take it because I think it would skew your results. Here's the test. http://www.humanmetr...win/jtypes2.asp I am I would expect most people to be

I am incredibly sad to say that the MOTDOTU passed on this Wednesday, even though I am certain it was to a better place. After fighting to stay with us for the last four months, and really the last five years, my mother died peacefully with her husband, all six children, her beloved sister and brother in law, ten grandchildren, two daughters in law, and one niece by her side. Remarkably, I had just returned from Germany, a brother had just gotten back from Hawaii, my Minnesota sister was flying in by chance that day, my globe-trotting CEO brother was a day from leaving for NYC, and my LA brother was able to fly up on short notice when our mother was taken to the ER Tuesda…

So I went to Arundel Mills Mall today to meet someone who was gonna buy some hockey tickets from me. $80, which almost paid for the gas down there and dinner for my family at popeyes. I met the guy, sold the tickets, bought some crap at the mall, and then went out to my car. My wife points out that her window has been shattered, and that we're missing stuff. Turns out 5 other people in that mall parking lot ALSO had their windows smashed and stuff stolen in the 3 hrs I was at the mall. I had my xm radio, gps, and my wife's bag of knitting crap? stolen. It was caught on mall security camera video. It was a well lit parking lot. Odds of anything coming of that anyone?

  18. Started by boomana,

I work in a residential facility of nine apartment buildings on a golf course and spend much of my day walking around annoying the patients. Many stray cats live on the golf course and come around mooching at night. They are almost all feral and impossible to tame. We know them all and the patients have names for them. Today, a cat I've never seen before starting following me around from building to building. I'd go in one for a hour or so and he'd be waiting for me outside the door of whatever apartment I'd been in and follow to the next one. I go in the office and he'd be waiting outside again and start meowing whenever I appeared. He must know a sucker when he sees one…

Looks like head-fi is back in business. I've got all my parts intact, but I went from a Headphoneus Supremus to a 100+ Member! Oh well... Doesn't look like I'm alone in that boat. In the end, this has worked out great, cause now I found another great headphone site!

Anyone else think this show is just the fucking bees knees? I got into it this past fall. I downloaded the miniseries off iTunes because it was strongly recommended to me from some friends, and from there I was hooked. Watched every single episode until I caught up somewhere in the middle of season 3. I'm enjoying the new episodes (and for the record, I'm enjoying the Dresden Files which is airing before BSG on Sundays, but still not as good as the books).

  25. I use my phone a lot for internet. Opera Mini does a great job at formatting almost all pages and makes it breeze to use. However, it has trouble with HC. HF formats just fine, but i think its because of different forum software. Would it be possible to make thi wonderful place more mobile friendly?
