Any interest in setting up a head-case fantasy football league? I'd likely just create a league through espn's fantasy football unless someone has a better idea.

Thought I'd start a dedicated F1 thread. Watching F1 Countdown. NBCSP's first GP programing. So far,.. Loved to see that Will is back in the pits. But, talk about a big shiny studio! Hockey is back, though not spanning two calendar years this time. Was great to watch the first games yesterday and last night!

Because dammit, we need a current NBA thread. It looks like there is going to be a pair of awesome games tonight. I'm really looking forward to seeing how LeBron and Kyrie respond to a little adversity. It is crazy that every singe one of the home teams in round two has already dropped a game at home. If the Cavs go down two games I'm officially worried for them. As for Houston, if they can't beat LAC without CP3 in the lineup then they are toast. Thank god for having a DVR! should be some outstanding games.

Congratulations to The Netherlands on a supreme thumping of Spain. I actually like a lot of the players on the Spanish team, but it is good to see the pundits squirming in their predictions. My final four included the Netherlands, along with Germany, Brazil and Switzerland. Karen disagrees about Switzerland so we will see. If the US makes it out of their group it will be a miracle, but they are probably better than their world ranking indicates.

Over the last few years this has become my favorite postseason. A new year, a new thread. Watching Game 1 of Blues and Hawks. Some good 3rd period hits and hawks are just hanging on.

So hockey is starting back. Training camp has begun. I'm heading to the preseason opener for the capitals down in raleigh on weds. It's a sickness. I'm really looking forward to the caps opener in Atlanta. I wish I could go down for that one as well, and tip a few back with Mr Hankins. I even watched the rookie game between the caps and the flyers...

Getting ahead of the season with something a bit different. I think Subban is a total dick on the ice but this was quite something: $10 million donation to the Montreal Children's Hospital. Meanwhile, one of our Chicago studs is figuring out how much cash he'll need to pay the woman he may/may not have raped... At least the hawks re-signed Marcus Kruger. My faith in the 4th line is restored.

Kansas City vs. Oakland... man oh man, does a game like that ever make me love baseball more than ever! From the 7th inning on to the 12th, it was pretty intense. Fun to watch the range of emotions of the KC fans as well as those of the players for both teams. Incredible game, and I sure am happy for the Royals. KC has waited a long, long time. They're my favorite team still in the mix, although I don't give them good odds against the Angels. Hockey season begins! First draft pick for the Maple leafs Austin Mathews Scores 4 Goals in his first NHL game.Maple leafs lose in overtime to Senns last night. Isles/Rangers tonight on MSG for 1st game of the season. Looking forward to watching it tonight.

Believe it, the Giants can take it all the way, defeated all the odds, and have an honest chance of taking down the "perfect team". Every time the Giants are supposed to lose, they won... They suck, had a spineless quarterback, and are a "dirty team" according to some packers players? Will the media still be talking all this trash about the giants tommorow morning? I'm loving it... As a Jets fan, i'm really pulling to see the Giants clean up the Patriots, and this has probably got to be an awesome battle of a superbowl. I'm psyched.

I thought we should start a thread of just NFL news, comments, insights, opinions, and team fanfare. I'll start off. The Niners this week has finally beat the Seahawks at their home turf. Last year it was miserable with them scoring just 3 points total in their two meetings. This year the offense is much improved with Mike Martz out there commanding and leading the troops down the field. Also with the addition of J T O'Sullivan as quarterback in the mix has been a blessing. The ball gets there as soon as the receivers are breaking. As a former Ohioan, it was sad to see both Indians and Reds get eliminated. Not to mention I think it would have been interesting to see Francona back in Fenway for a series.

I'm watching the high quality stream online (all the streaming is via silverlight) and I'm extremely impressed with the quality. It's probably the best quality stream I've ever seen. Now I just have to keep an eye out for some good games

Damn, I love hockey. Even more when the Canadiens are winning like this season. Seriously, I think no other sport beats hockey on television. Fast action, solid physical contacts, intelligent plays, etc. I don't understand why you Americans don't love it as we do in Canada. Football rules, but why the hell is baseball more popular than hockey? Watching baseball on TV is as exciting as watching plants grow... So, any hockey fans out there?
